PRECIOUS FLOCK & JULIE
NEW LIFE PARROT RESCUE CENTRE
Little Mo, one of our rescued African grey parrots, had a serious and persistent health condition that veterinary treatment helped stabilise in 2006, but in April 2007 the problem recurred. This time, veterinary treatment did little to abate the suspected internal abscess or possible benign tumour – its identity was somewhat ambiguous. When Little Mo stopped eating and became violently sick with slight traces of blood in her droppings, I tearfully contacted our vet and after discussing the grave situation made a provisional booking for her euthanasia that afternoon.
Fortunately, my daughter suggested that I contacted Michele for help. I knew nothing then about Shamanism and the powerful healing energies brought to the patient from this wonderful practice. Michele explained that it mattered not what was causing ill health; that ill health is the result of negative energy. Once I had engaged Michele to undertake the Shamanic healing journey for dear Little Mo, I experienced an amazing telepathic communication between Little Mo and me. Little Mo was able to commune to me that there were times when she felt sad, especially when I had been absent minded and ignored her when I was busy. This gave me the opportunity to acknowledge her feelings thus put right the wrong-doings with heartfelt remorse and apologise. This helped both of us on a spiritual level.
The information that Michele brought back from the Shamanic journey helped me to understand Little Mo’s requirements, her feelings and her own perspective of her illness. A transformation occurred. Our relationship deepened and she had a surge of energy that gave the impression her health was fully restored. It was almost a week after Michele’s journey when Mo gravely deteriorated. I knew the end was close and when I reflected upon her healing story, I became fully aware of its true meaning; that it was, indeed, a spiritual journey to prepare not only Little Mo for her transition but also to prepare me for her physical departure. Little Mo had chosen a natural physical death and when that moment came, she passed away with profound love whilst I held her close to me. I was naturally tearful and upset at losing such a beloved bird, but I also felt a sense of peace and that all was well with her. I realised through this poignant experience that we cannot alter what is meant to be but that we are given the opportunity to open our hearts and correct any mistakes and misunderstandings between us and our beloved animals, so that we are able to accept the past, present and future and thus move on for the higher good of all.
In the past, I had always experienced emotional turmoil over the passing of the animals and birds I were privileged to share my life with, but Michele’s Shamanic journey became a turning point in my life and brought to me a greater understanding and meaning of communion and oneness with our animals friends and the natural world.
My heartfelt thanks and appreciation for Little Mo’s Healing Story, which is beautiful and brought tears to my eyes because of its loveliness – she is a beautiful spirit.
The wonderment of all this is what we are able to understand and feel, their (our animal friend’s) true essence and thus see more than what the physical eye, in its limitation, allows us to see. However, as it all comes from the heart it shows we have been looking with our eyes shut. www.nlpr.org.uk
