I asked the Universe what this message needed to be. The answer came...
‘We have fenced ourselves in’
Then I heard a bird call and the words:
‘I live in a world where there are no fences’
Then I saw a picture:
Of humans pulling down the fences, so once again they could walk free.
WHEN NATURE CALLS
Animals live as an integral ‘part of’ their environment, but as humans we live, in most situations, an increasingly un-natural existence. Our modern culture has lost its connection with nature and our relationship towards all-things in the natural world has become one which is mainly based on individual gain, sometimes on a commercial scale. After all, everything filters up to an individual – even if that individual is part of a group of individuals. We all have our own power, our own choices. We all wear our own moccasins and the footprints they make lead straight to us, like an arrow – straight to the heart. Nature calls, trying to guide us home.
LIVING AMONGST HEALERS
From the beginning of time Indigenous people have respected animals as great guides and teachers. The Native American culture, in-particular, holds love and respect for Mother Earth as well as all animals that they refer to as brothers and sisters. Their belief is that everything is an element of Great Spirit and that the life force of Great Spirit travels through all-things. Their beautiful words of wisdom throughout these pages clearly reflect this.
Animals, especially horses, have maintained a strong connection to nature despite years of domestication. They provide us with friendship, support, loyalty, unconditional love and are forever forgiving. It has been acknowledged how animals can also increase the health and wellbeing of their human friend just by small acts such as walking, brushing and stroking.
Shamans have observed over time that healing an animal can have the effect of healing their human friend too. This is because animal problems can be caused by what is known as mirroring their human partner. But when we consider mirroring we have to ask what are they mirroring? The answer is disharmony. Insights from our relationships with our animal friends can bring guidance for a return to balance, harmony, health and wellbeing.
