MICHELE JANE'S STORY
MJ has been around horses since the age of nine. She has had experience in BHS, Classical, Western and Natural Horsemanship, as well as the deeper levels of connection after been a student of one of the world’s most talented horsemen, Klaus Ferdinand Hempfling.
Her own journey, which began with her horses, Zulu and Sirius, led to her searching for the ‘right way’ to be with horses. She travelled to Portugal, Finland, Denmark and Holland in her search for ‘the Truth’, but her horses became her biggest teachers of all. MJ says; it was after receiving big lessons of not listening to my own gut feeling with instructors, which resulted in both my horses sustaining injuries that I began to look beyond any system. I asked myself what I was looking for and the answer was ‘the horse’s permission’.
When you are ready – you will find it:
Feeling confused and miss-understood I kept asking the Universe for direction. I had asked Christ into my life and attended an Alpha course, but on the last component I left saddened after been told a priest didn't need to believe in God, that he was just doing a job. I decided to have a direct relationship with Christ and asked for The Truth, The Whole Truth and Nothing but the Truth to be revealed, and to be shown what was been hidden from us. This was a question that came from deep within me, and I began to experience things I could not explain.
I joined The International Foundation for Shamanic Studies and became a student of The Sacred Trust with whom I studied Animal Spirit Medicine for one year. ASM is based on a sacred trust that exists between the human and animal kingdom, residing in a ‘meeting point’ between the two. Shamanism has enabled me to understand what I have been seeing and feeling in animals, especially horses, since my childhood. It has brought clarity and understanding to a place where I only felt frustration and confusion because of what I was being told. I have discovered the things we feel have real meaning in our relationships with our animal friends. Soul level bonds are achievable, but too much structure blocks these capacities. Everything in life has to be allowed its own rhythm.
Hidden depths aren’t immediately obvious. But given time, they emerge:
Shamanism is a broad subject and one where clarity of the consciousness of the shamanic practitioner is of utmost importance, requiring purity and integrity of consciousness. After years of study my understanding is that everything that comes from been with our horses is a direct result of everything - to do with The Self. As humans we have a tendency to look outside of ourselves for the answers, but as a spirit once told a Siberian Samoyed Shaman, “shamanizing, you will find your way, by yourself”.

Today MJ is happy to share her journey with others; through story, shamanic journey work, being with horses and photographic experiential learning. |
